Location and accessibility
ECTH 2018 will be held at the Palais des Congrès – Marseille Chanot, Parc Chanot, Rond-Point du Prado, 13009 Marseille. Check this page for more information.
Taxis from Marseille Provence Airport are around €70, and up to €90 at night, with 30 to 35 km to downtown locations. An alternative is the bus shuttle which runs every 15 minutes, taking passengers from the airport to Marseille’s main train station, Gare Saint Charles. Tickets can be purchased online or at the airport for less than €10. Upon arrival at the Gare Saint Charles station, you can switch to the Metro line 2 which will stop at Rond Point du Prado, directly in front of the entrance to Parc Chanot.
A taxi from the Gare Saint Charles station to Parc Chanot should cost around €20.
Parking is available at the meeting venue at the cost of €5 per day.
The official language of the congress is English.
Although the days can be pleasantly warm at 21°C, the evening temperature can drop to around 12°C in October. The overall average temperature is 17°C. The sea temperature drops under 20°C this month, now averaging 19°C, which may be a bit too chilly for most people to brave swimming.
During the ECTH, attire should be smart casual and rather elegant than sporty.

Payment of the registration fee
If the registration fee has not been paid before the congress starts, please go to the registration desk, show a copy of your registration confirmation and pay the missing amount there. You can only pay in cash or with credit card (VISA/MasterCard/AMEX).
Safety and insurance
As in all major cities, people should be aware of safety risks. You are advised not to wear your conference badge outside congress activities. It is highly recommended that all participants carry adequate personal travel and health insurance. The organizers do not accept responsibility for individual medical, travel or personal insurance.
Smoking is prohibited inside the building. You are allowed to smoke outside, please remember to take your name badge with you.
All participants will receive a personal badge upon registration. You are kindly requested to wear this badge when attending any scientific session or conference related event. Only participants who are wearing their name badge will be admitted to the meeting rooms, the exhibition area and the poster sessions.
The official currency in France is the Euro (€). Foreign currency can be exchanged at banks, which are usually open from Monday to Friday from 8:30-9:00 to 16:00-17:30.
